Join local bread maker, Essie , owner of Good Grain Bread Co., for an interactive workshop on the basics of sourdough bread. During our time together you will learn how to maintain a starter, mix, shape and bake a basic country loaf. In addition to the basics of bread making, you will have the opportunity to learn about the unique properties that make sourdough breads more nutritious and digestible than yeasted bread alternatives. At the conclusion of the workshop you will take home a sourdough starter to begin your own bread making journey, as well as a freshly baked country loaf!
Good Grain Bread Co. is a local artisan micro bakery specializing in sourdough breads. The whole grains are milled in house in small batches. Each order is hand mixed and shaped before undergoing a cold fermentation. This fermentation period unlocks vitamins and minerals within the wheat maximizing flavor as well as numerous nutritional benefits.
Organic ingredients are used in all Good Grain products.
The cost of the workshop is $45.00 per person, which includes container of starter and recipe.
